We are seeking a Senior Research Associate, Compound Management to be responsible for compound management including the registration, storage and delivery of synthesized and vendor compounds. This will include rapid distribution of requested compounds and preparation and delivery of compound plates.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate delivery of incoming powders/plates with outside CRO’s and vendors
  • Complete all compound receiving, registration, and dilution of incoming powders/plates
  • Receive, track, inventory, and register compounds using internally developed software and commercial chemical registration software
  • Generate and register DMSO stock solutions in internal registration software
  • Prepare compound plates for HTS screening
  • Generate work files to modify automation software and processes
  • Cross-train individuals on compound management equipment and compound management processes for screening
  • Address compound requests in a timely fashion (24-48 hour response time)
  • Maintain compound organization of solid and powder libraries and associated data in a systematic and searchable manner
  • General lab duties as needed, assist with supply ordering, receiving, or other duties around the lab

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in compound handling
  • Familiarity with compound management applications, including chemical registration databases and informatics interfaces. Working knowledge of operation of liquid handling systems such as Janus and other automated plate processors is a plus
  • Experience in compound screening is preferred but not required
  • Maintenance and knowledge of automated compound management equipment, including Janus Mini and Janus Expandable Varispan, a plus
