Formulation Technician
The Formulation Associate ensures that a new product is feasible, consistent, and meets the customer’s quality requirements. They work closely with Quality and Production/Manufacturing to ensure that the process is efficient while meeting our regulations. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: calculating/verifying the formulation of the buffer, ensuring that information is transferred smoothly between the customer and production, and improving the process in both quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Determine feasibility of a new product
- Calculate/Verify that the formula meets customer requirements
- Create pilot batches, Design Control form, SOPs, and Work Instructions
- Maintain calibration, run preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment
- Translate customer needs into a technical report
- Review previous processes, SOPs, and products for improvement
- Help maximize efficiency in production
- Train staff on new procedures/processes
- Enter/Create Batch records on ERP system
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or any related background
- Minimum 0-2 years of experience working in an ISO certified environment
- Able to perform calculations to produce buffers of specific concentrations
- Familiarity with adjusting pads/solutions or reagents to meet certain specifications
- Able to help transition a new product from customer specifications to full-scale manufacturing
- Experience with calibration and validation of lab equipment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and change priorities while maintaining productivity.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift at least 25 pounds.
