Duties and Responsibilities:
-Be a key member of the molecular biology team that will plan, manage and execute molecular biology activities related to custom generation of genetically engineered mouse/rat/rabbit models.
-Design transgenic/ES cell gene targeting/CRISPR genome editing strategies to meet clients’ research needs.
-Improve components of current processes, and develop more efficient methods to support transgenic/gene targeted vector construction.
-Prepare milestones reports, project descriptions and updates for internal and external customers and partners.
-Routine PCR and DNA preparation, DNA mapping and restriction enzyme analysis.
-Good proficiency with common molecular cloning techniques and attention to detail.
-BAC recombineering and CRISPR techniques.
-Skills of designing primers, vectors and performing sequence analysis.
-Familiar with mouse genome database and other bioinformatics needed for generating genetic engineered mouse models.
-MUST have experience designing projects for mouse knockout/knockin models utilizing variety of cloning and gene editing techniques.
-Carrying out troubleshooting independently is essential.
-Communication, organization and progress tracking skills is essential.
-To be self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast moving work environment requiring time sensitive delivery of results.
-The qualified candidate will be expected to work independently and as a team player, interpret and present data both verbally and in written formats.
Job Requirements:
– Master’s degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience (2 yr. minimum) or PhD.
-Candidate must be experienced with general molecular biology techniques (PCR, gene cloning, vector design, etc.). Sequence analysis and experimental design experience is a must, and/or transgenic/gene targeted mouse/rat/rabbit model generation research.
