Department: Operations and Production
Min. Experience: BS in Biology or related, with 1-3 years of relevant experience
To be successful you will need:
Education
-BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology or related fields.
-A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in industry.
Essential skills and experience
-Experience with cell culture of mammalian cell lines.
-Knowledge to perform transfections of various cell lines.
-Ability to prepare scientific and progress reports based on experiments performed in a timely fashion.
-Keep track of timelines and proper updating on all projects.
-Administrative support experience, in order to aid the Director of Embryology.
-Formulating and keeping record logs for all cell lines.
-Experience handling ES cells, including analyzing and quantitating data from experiments is highly desired.
-Flow cytometry experience.
– Working knowledge of RNA interence, shRNA and/or siRNA , as well as, gene editing techniques including homologous recombination and CRISPR/Cas9, and their applications to study gene function.
-Experience with western blots.
-Ability to learn quickly and properly follow protocols, procedures, and instruction.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Interact with all individuals in productive ways to enhance goals and core vision. Show respect and maintain a professional attitude to all lab members and outside collaborators.
Additional skills
-Experience handling transgenic mice.
-Familiarity with protocol submissions under IRB.
