Senior Associate Scientist / Principal Associate Scientist, Process Development | ClinLab Staffing


We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior/Principal Associate Scientist to support development and characterization activities of our novel gene therapy product. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Process Development and joins a team of scientists dedicated to supporting the manufacturing of early stage clinical material. Candidates with process development or manufacturing experience and an ability to adapt to a dynamic environment will be highly valued. This role will have high visibility in a company that is expanding to support a dynamic pipeline.


Primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Execution of critical upstream and downstream studies to support the improvement of our large-scale manufacturing processes
  • Maintain bioreactors, supporting equipment, consumable supply, and development lab space
  • Assist the generation and review of protocols, batch records, and reports
  • Support manufacturing studies through technical studies and investigations
  • Interfacing with cross-functional teams and tech transfer to CMOs
  • Experience working with single-use bioreactors preferred
  • Hands-on experience working with downstream purification equipment including AKTAs, TFF systems, or filtration a plus


  • BS or MS in Bioengineering, Biotechnology or related discipline
  • 2-4+ years (BS), 2+ years (MS) of relevant experience in an industrial lab setting
  • Experience with insect cells (Sf9/Sf21) is highly desirable
  • Strong collaboration and team-working skills
  • Results-driven with excellent attention to details

Desired experience includes:

  • Experience conducting routine cell culture and ideally working with bioreactors 5L or larger
  • Experience working with purification related unit operations a plus
  • Proven ability to independently design and prioritize experiments
  • Prepare, analyze, and present data internally to cross functional team
