QA Calibration Technician

The QA Calibration Specialist is a non-exempt position that reports to QC/QA Management. The QA Calibration Technician is responsible for overseeing the QA equipment calibration program including documentation, testing, and specifications.

Essential Functions

• Oversee QA equipment calibration program including documentation, testing, and specifications
• Enter and maintain up to date EtQ Reliance Assets, Calibration, and Maintenance records
• Review equipment calibration data to determine status of laboratory equipment
• Troubleshoot and investigate out-of-specification equipment and calibration results including root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions

Required:

• AS in a Science related field with 2 or more years QA/QC/laboratory experience in regulated industry
• Excellent attention to detail
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Outlook
• Understanding of basic statistics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with proper pipetting technique
• Available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM with some flexibility
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for travel between three (3) local facilities

Preferred:

• BS in a Science related field with 1 or more years QA/QC/laboratory experience in regulated industry
• Equipment calibration experience
• Ability to give and receive feedback
• Diligent, dependable, and self-motivated

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently
• Able to sit or stand for an extended length of time
• Able to work at a computer for an extended length of time
• Able to work for up to 15 minutes in low temperature environments (4°C and -20°C)
• Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines
• Able to operate micro-pipettors repeatedly and accurately for up to 6 hours per day
